Issue 10 - I wore a low rise bootcut pant suit for the first time in 20 years

I'm outta my element Donny!

So I got this “insanely cute vintage 2000s Tommy Hilfiger green corduroy matching set” on Depop, and honestly I don’t know why I immediately buy some things without thought and stew on other things for months. This was a weird one because I haven’t worn a low rise bootcut pant since probably 2005—a true impulse buy. I think the color got me.

Two decades ago (which officially counts as vintage…scary), all our pants were low rise, all our blazers were synched, and all our cuts were boot. I had a lime green pair of low rise corduroys from La Senza Girl that looked just like these, and I was determined to make this look work for me in 2025. My mood board included:

• The new Adidas Bowling x Brain Dead x DSM shoes, which go really fucking well with my new bowling bag. Soccer style has cleared the way for bowling style and The Dude abides. Look at these Nikes…they’re my size. The Bad Manors, the Gutter Gals, the Bowling Bimbos—this sport has the best team names. This top has a trompe l’oeil vest.

Anyway I shit you not I ordered these shoes when they dropped last Thursday at 8am and the box was at my door the next day by noon. Here’s 3 ways I’ve worn them since:

With a Heaven Lux Lisbon skirt.

With Entire Studios shorts and a vintage bag.

With Open YY jeans and an old Michael Kors bag.

Things I’m resisting buying:

• This XL bow leotard from Vaquera.

• Bond No.9 recently released Greenpoint and this headline is so good.
